Dear Shona,

Please give Scotland’s pubs the same support as pubs in England

I am writing to once again to call on the Scottish government to support Scottish hospitality with business rates relief on par with that offered to our colleagues south of the border. As you know, it was announced in the UK Government’s Budget that pubs and hospitality in England would continue to receive business rates relief, now at 40%.

I can assure you that we are facing as many challenges as English hospitality businesses, yet so far there is no recognition of this and so I and we urge you to offer the same basic assistance to Scottish pubs in your Budget next week.
